The cemetery was bigger than Sonic had imagined.He walked between the graves until he come to a crypt but the door to it was locked and the other crypt was the gates locked with a chain.He tugged at the gates as hard as he could and the chain came off a little but not enough.Sonic thought he heard something move behind him and was preparing for an attack.But nothing happen,he looked around for an another crypt and started to running towards it.When he arrived at the crypt he noticed that it was made of stone and he doubted that he was strong enough to open it.But the rain was pouring down,he was exhaustedand it was pretty far to the next crypt.Sonic grabbed the door and pulled with all his strenght he had left.The door open so soft that Sonic slipped and landed in a puddle.Sonic became stiff and staring into the darkness,thinking ''so easily may well not a door go up, what if someone is already in there and pushed the door at the same time I pulled''.But even if there would be someone in there so could not Sonic see it beacuse of the darkness.He was afraid to go in but he had no choice. It was a greater chance to survive inside the crypt than outside.
Sonic stood up on his feet and went into the crypt.First it was very dark but it got better after a while.
It was cold but still warmer and drier than outside.Sonics stomach started to sound,now he had somewhere to sleep but the hunger was more difficult to solve.
When Sonic came to a fountain he saw it was covered with cobwebs.He looked at the spiders but they were gone,he had eaten insects before when there was not much food in the village.
Sonic sighed and figured he might as well try to eat the cobwebs because there was nothingelse to eat. Then he pulled a few fingers through the net and gathered it up.
-Are cobwebs a delicacy where you come from?
Sonic turned around and looked up at the wall above the door.Something climbed on the brick.It had black fur with pale face and red stripes.It had dug their claws into the bricks and looked at Sonic with an evil and bloodthirsty smile.
Sonic ran towards the door,convinced that it was already too late,that the creature would jump down in front of him and block the door before it pounced on him and killed him.But to his surprise the beast was not moving and Sonic had reached the door.
-I would want you to stay a little.Muttered the creature and Sonic stopped.
-What are you? gasped Sonic.
-should you not ask who! I am? Asked the creature, then let the wall,fell to the floor and stood up.
Now Sonic saw it was a mobian.He frowned and looked suspiciously at the guy.
-Are'nt you a monster?
-It is hardly the word I would use to describe myself.
Sonic was suprised when the guy held out his hand to him,but he held out his own hand and they greeted eachothers.
-My name is Shadow and I sleep in this crypt tonight and well..feel free to keep me company.
-Thank you,my name is Sonic.
